Claude Code leaks a reasoning trace, then blocks the bug report as reasoning_extraction
rchardkovacs · x · 2026-11-03
Developer @rchardkovacs reports catching Claude Code leaking a reasoning trace. When he asked Claude to review the issue and file a bug report, the request got flagged as "reasoningextraction" and blocked.
The result is a curious loop: the trace leaks to the user, yet trying to handle it through the model triggers the very guardrail meant to prevent reasoning extraction. He asked Anthropic's dev account what the standard procedure is in this case.
