Wes Bos open-sources 3D Model Anything: iPhone LiDAR scans become editable Three.js rooms via AI agents
thisguyknowsai · x · 2026-11-03
Developer Wes Bos released 3D Model Anything (2.7k GitHub stars), putting the unused LiDAR on Pro iPhones to work: walk around a room while the laser measures everything, with the screen showing red triangles where photos are still needed and green where coverage is done. Hand the scan to a coding AI agent guided by the bundled scan-to-threejs skill, which walks through measurement, modeling and matched-camera visual comparisons, producing an editable Three.js scene explorable in the browser. Repo includes the iPhone app, viewer, skill and a full office demo.
