Coinbase launches signup page for AI agents to trade crypto and stocks within user-set limits

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong announced "Coinbase for Agents," a dedicated signup page letting users connect AI agents (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Grok, Perplexity and more) to trade crypto and stocks in plain language.
- Bring your own agent: one install links existing AI tools to your Coinbase account
- Guardrails: users set limits, enforced by Coinbase in a separate portfolio per agent; Coinbase stresses it's informational only and users assume full responsibility
- Example prompts: rebalance to 80% BTC / 20% S&P 500 with 5% drift alerts, weekly $50 TSLA buys (halved when RSI > 70), executive/congressional trade alerts, portfolio x-ray, Monday briefings
Armstrong frames it as building Coinbase into "the most AI-enabled financial account" — a major exchange formally opening its doors to agentic finance.
