Chemist Corin Wagen says he's read dozens of posts this year claiming AI reproduced years of research in minutes — and was still surprised when it happened to him: revisiting carbonyl–olefin metathesis calculations that took him months in 2021, AI handled them quickly. The reblogger adds that much chemistry/materials math and analysis is now free — just throw in work you want to do now and see what surprises come out.
