'Agents do this weekly' criticism answered with the AlexNet analogy
khademinori · x · 2026-11-03
Yavuz Bakman questioned a highly-viewed agent research project, claiming researchers do such things weekly. khademinori pushed back with the AlexNet analogy: by that reasoning, Hinton did nothing new in AlexNet since CNNs and ImageNet were both old — but the experiment of training CNNs on ImageNet was new and its results significant. The same applies here.
