OpenAI's dev team unveiled Pando, a new Git backend for its monorepo designed to handle growing pushes and fetches without changing how engineers and agents use Git. It cut push latency by 80% and now serves nearly a petabyte of Git data per day, letting Git capacity scale alongside agent usage. The team says git compatibility is preserved and generally useful changes are contributed upstream.
