Spawn: 10 people, 77,000 substantial commits in 30 days, 30x payroll spent on AI tokens

Artist-engineer Sterling Crispin announces he has joined Spawn, a 10-person company that spends 30x payroll on AI tokens and shipped 77,000 substantial changes in 30 days (108/hour around the clock, nearly matching Anthropic's pace). Having run autoresearch loops with dozens of trading agents for years, he says jumping to thousands of agents feels alien — and after experiencing that leverage on a small team, he wouldn't work anywhere not doing this. 'Software engineer' may no longer be the right word; more like 'fleet whisperer.'
