Zed creator slams Claude Code for constant 'handoff' sessions over compaction
zeeg · x · 2026-11-03
Zed editor creator zeeg complains that Claude Code has apparently decided context compaction is a bad idea and instead keeps creating 'handoff' sessions nonstop. He finds it annoying and asks Anthropic to un-RL that behavior.
It's a notable user-side signal about how coding agents' long-context management strategies (compaction vs. handoff) are evolving and friction they cause in real workflows.
