Argonauts Code: open-source orchestrator turns multi-agent coding workflows into TOML, not prompts
Affectionate-Bit5072 · reddit · 2026-11-03
The author released Argonauts Code, an Apache-2.0 open-source orchestrator that drives Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode CLIs via their headless structured outputs. Workflows are TOML step files executed deterministically rather than living in prompts: builders work in separate git worktrees, reviews default to a different provider than the builder, and a Council workflow has models debate anonymously until consensus. It auto-discovers local servers (Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM), offers headless runs with USD limits, an MCP server, and 10k+ model-free tests built on recorded/replayed CLI outputs. Most of the code was written by parallel Claude Code agents with reviewer agents and PR+CI. Alpha, macOS/Linux only.
