Dev Wraps Rust CAD Clone as an MCP App and Plugs It Into Bionic
purton_i · reddit · 2026-11-02
A developer built a proof of concept that wraps Cad Craft — a Rust rewrite/clone of AutoCAD-style CAD software — as an MCP App and integrates it into the open-source LLM frontend Bionic (bionic-gpt/bionic-gpt).
The author notes that many Adobe and other desktop tools are being cloned in Rust, and he took one of these clones and wrapped it for MCP. He says the same approach should work for integrating into Claude, ChatGPT and Mistral. A screenshot is included, but no config or code details are given; this is an early PoC and the author is asking for feedback.
