Visualize GitHub Actions CI timelines with a Perfetto trace file your agent generates
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-11-02
Daniel Lockyer shares a neat CI-debugging trick: hand your coding agent a GitHub Actions link and ask it to output a .pftrace file, which you can upload to Perfetto to see every job as a clickable timeline bar with nested steps — useful for spotting where your CI is slow.
He also tried having the agent generate a Chrome-compatible trace, but the nesting didn't render correctly, so the Perfetto format works best.
