OpenAI Dots user says bloat and broken infra drove him to try newcomer Muse
Koala_Confused · reddit · 2026-11-02
A long-time OpenAI user details a frustrating Dots experience: using it to PM a codex project led to excessive layering and bloat he attributes to over-safety and testing, forcing a rollback. Conversations latch onto wrong context and speak in a detached third-party tone, far worse than regular ChatGPT. Cloud PC and cloud browser features were broken, with inaccessible threads. By contrast, he praises newcomer Muse for a clean app, nothing broken, good conversation quality, and fully transparent memory stored as an editable Markdown file. He hasn't tested Muse's coding yet and asks if it's codex-level.
