Power user paying $200/month for Claude loves AI tools but questions lack of industry regulation
wfithian · x · 2026-11-02
A self-described heavy AI user who spends $200 a month on Claude shares a shift in his views: he finds the product worth every penny and believes existing AI tools can deliver significant GDP gains and help solve major global challenges.
Yet he questions why the industry remains so underregulated when its own leaders and employees seem to call for oversight. He points to a widely heard-of but poorly understood Hugging Face incident and urges people to dig into the actual chain of events, and also questions whether frontier labs' race toward ever-more-powerful models is a path we need to follow.
