DalalBytes published a five-year (2021–2026) landscape of the compute market, market by market:
- NVIDIA leads every market it contests: 93% of discrete GPU units and 75% of AI accelerator revenue.
- AMD's GPU share fell from 21% to 7%; its real gains came from Intel's CPU turf — server CPU units rose from 9% to 33%, with revenue share hitting 46.2%.
- Intel contracted across the board: data center revenue share dropped from 68% to 6%, server CPU units from 91% to 67%.
- Arm quietly spread into PCs and servers, now powering 15.3% of PC CPUs without selling a chip.
- Custom ASICs are the fastest-growing force, with shipments nearly quadrupling by 2027 even as GPU shipments keep rising.
The author argues ARM, Broadcom, and the hyperscalers are the better trades from here (not financial advice).
