Sketchy: open-source tool lets Claude draw hand-sketched interactive diagrams in chat
Nkgsporty · reddit · 2026-11-02
A developer released Sketchy, a free open-source tool that lets Claude draw and explain hand-sketched interactive diagrams right in the chat, with hover details and a step-by-step mode.
How it works: Claude only describes what's in the drawing (boxes, arrows, groups), while positions come from a layout engine — avoiding the overlapping boxes you get when an LLM writes SVG directly. It works in normal chat as a skill (upload a zip, done) and in Claude Code as an MCP extension; the extension can also label real photos with a small local vision model, e.g. drawing Arduino wiring. Open source on GitHub with docs.
