GPT-6.2 Astra spotted in Codex usage stats, reportedly skipping 6.1 entirely

Jiqizhixin rounds up the GPT-6.2 Astra leaks: multiple users found the model identifier in Codex usage stats switched from GPT-6 Astra to GPT-6.2 while the UI label stayed unchanged — widespread enough to look like a staged rollout rather than a glitch. OpenAI's official model catalog doesn't list it yet.
The rumored GPT-6.1 was reportedly cancelled over safety issues; the community speculates OpenAI fixed the problems and jumped the version to 6.2. Some users claim CLI access, but one screenshot shows an "unsupported-model" error followed by a successful /review task — not yet proof it works in Codex CLI.
Community leaks claim major gains across the board, reportedly beating Opus 5.5 in nearly all areas with lower cost and better coding. Meanwhile Anthropic's Mythos 5.5 was found in its site HTML and Fable 5.5 in Azure listings, setting up a fresh head-to-head.
