Homebrew 4DGS pipeline with a 10x Raspberry Pi global-shutter camera rig
willeastcott · x · 2026-11-02
Developer slimbuck7 shares progress on a home-brew 4D Gaussian Splatting pipeline:
- Capture rig: 10x Raspberry Pi global shutter cameras (1.4MP each), no GenAI frame interpolation
- Current scene: 10k Gaussians, about 5k on the face
- Gaussians are tracked between frames, which is very useful for compression
- Known issue: individual Gaussians are still 'wobbly'; next step is post-processing frame data to filter/smooth noise
A practical low-cost multi-camera approach to dynamic 3D capture.
