Google open-sources Elephant-Goldfish, the plugin its engineers use to plan before AI codes
solyarisoftware · x · 2026-11-02
Google has open-sourced the Elephant-Goldfish Model, a plugin used internally by thousands of its engineers to stop AI from coding before the plan is solid.
- Elephant: one long session that knows the whole project, drafts the design doc, and writes zero code
- Goldfish: fresh agents with no memory of your chat that read the doc cold and catch assumptions you never wrote down
- You approve the plan, then your agent builds it
It ships skills for brainstorming, drafting, review, resolving feedback, documenting existing codebases, and catching doc drift. Works in Claude Code and Codex via claude plugin marketplace add google/elephant-goldfish-model.
