UChicago HCI lab demos UIST 2026 papers in one improvised take, incl. RingIO
plopesresearch · x · 2026-11-02
The Human Computer Integration Lab (Lopes' Lab) at University of Chicago posted a single-shot, largely improvised live demo video for UIST 2026 covering several papers. One highlight is RingIO by Lonnie Chien (just starting his PhD at Cornell): a ring interface whose double-sided electrodes sense touch on the outside and deliver electrotactile feedback inside, enabling eyes-free interaction.
The lab has a tradition of such single-take demos with no scripting; at CHI 2026 they demoed five papers in one continuous take. Paper and full demo archive are on the lab's site.
