Game Dev Cheat Sheet: 34 animated concepts with paste-ready AI prompt snippets
AIandDesign · x · 2026-11-02
Nicolas Zu launched gamedev-cheatsheet.com, a free resource for developers building games with AI. It covers 34 game dev concepts, each with a live interactive animation and a one-line "prompt bit" you can paste directly into AI prompts.
- The "3D & rendering" section alone has 8 concepts, including Raycasting (hitscan, line of sight, mouse picking), Normals (lighting, bounces, walkable-floor detection), and Level of Detail.
- Prompt bits specify concrete parameters, e.g. cast from muzzle along aim direction with max distance 100 units and a layer mask skipping the shooter; count a floor as walkable only when the surface normal's up component exceeds 0.7 (45 degrees).
- Email updates will add new concepts over time.
