Japanese studio archives physical phenomena in Three.js: photoelasticity, Chladni figures
flngr · x · 2026-11-01
Japanese creative studio asobo design is building a Three.js archive of physical phenomena that can be reproduced with real-time rendering.
The PHENOMENA series includes No.09 "Photoelasticity" (colorful stress-birefringence fringes on a bent ruler) and No.10 "Chladni Figures" (sand patterns on vibrating plates). Each piece documents the key visual parameters, making it a nice reference for creative coders and frontend developers.
