Seven sequential fine-tunes on Krea 2: stunning photorealism, catastrophic forgetting of everything else
MellyDArt · reddit · 2026-11-01
Using 10,000 photos from an old hard drive plus Instagram material, the author ran seven sequential full fine-tunes on Krea 2 (datasets of 300–2,500 images, 20% overlap, up to 4,000 steps each, final run switched to style/content mode in AI Toolkit). Photorealism became extremely convincing by checkpoint 12500, but catastrophic forgetting kicked in: other styles became nearly unreachable and every tested LoRA broke. The result is a highly specialized photography checkpoint — documented as a cautionary experiment, not a repeatable recipe.
