DeepSeek V4.1-Flash is just a placeholder — Renmin Univ's FlashRSI README sparks confusion
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-11-01
teortaxesTex clarifies that deepseek-v4.1-flash is not a valid model ID, only a placeholder. The confusion stems from Renmin University's FlashRSI English README, whose Quick Start example has used deepseek-v4.1-pro since Oct 31 — nowhere else. Per DeepSeek's docs, the real callable names are deepseek-flash (served by DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017) and deepseek-v4.1-pro; legacy names like deepseek-v4-flash are accepted but retired, with requests served at Flash pricing. FlashRSI's actual SearchQA config uses v4-flash and v4-pro.
