Orilo AI News Assistant Beta Test: 2 of 3 Answers Right, One Confused a Year-Old Model Release
JaynitMakwana · x · 2026-11-01
Jaynit Makwana tested Orilo, a voice-native AI news assistant in closed beta, by asking for the last 24 hours of AI news and fact-checking every claim:
- Pika H3 Flex shipped Oct 29 — correct
- Liquid AI released its LFM3 models Oct 27 — correct
- It said Kimi Linear 48B launched "yesterday" — it actually came out Oct 30, 2025, a year ago
Pressed on sourcing, Orilo claimed it tracks model deployments but named no source. It also spent about 10 seconds setting the scene before delivering actual news.
2 of 3 sounds decent, but the author argues date and source errors are exactly what a news assistant must avoid — every item should come with a date and a citation, or users still have to verify everything themselves. The app is in closed beta, so this is a first look.
