Open-source AI novel writer Pagekin hits 2.2k stars, tames long-fiction context
aigclink · x · 2026-11-01
Pagekin (formerly AI Novel Writer), a free open-source desktop app for AI long-form fiction, has reached 2.2k GitHub stars by tackling the classic pain points: character drift, plot contradictions, and lost context.
- Full workflow: ideation, planning, chapter-by-chapter drafting, review and revision; AI plans story arcs, chapter structure, conflicts and twists from your premise, then drafts per blueprint.
- Structured context management: instead of stuffing the whole novel into context, it maintains character sheets, relationships, worldbuilding, plot threads and summaries, assembling only what the current chapter needs — screenshots show detailed character cards with traits, motives and relationship maps.
- Supports importing existing novels to continue/rewrite/imitate, pluggable writing skills (e.g. de-AI-flavor), local-first with BYO model (OpenAI/DeepSeek/Ollama), Windows/macOS.
