RTX 4070 runs MiniMax H3: 12s video takes 1.5h, 15s takes 5h
Serenaded · reddit · 2026-11-01
A Reddit user reports generation times for MiniMax H3 (r2v default workflow with LoRA) on an RTX 4070 with 12GB VRAM:
- 12-second video, 20 steps: about 1h26m. Prompt described a single developing scene, structured as scene context/reference guide, scene description, and audio.
- 15-second video, 20 steps: roughly 5 hours, even after a PC reboot. Prompt length was similar but more specific, specifying actions for 0-2s, 2-5s, 5-7s, etc., adding a "beats" section to the same structure.
The author wonders whether a mere 3 extra seconds should cause such a jump, and whether the prompt structure (the added beats) or VRAM dynamic offloading is to blame. They note the 12GB card already struggles with dynamic offloading.
