Dev tool UIs are converging: Vercel, Supabase, Cloudflare and ChatGPT sidebars look alike
ColleenMBrady · x · 2026-11-01
The author observes that developer tool interfaces are bifurcating: voice, MCP, connectors, terminals and agents are making traditional UIs fade, while the point-and-click tools that remain are converging on nearly identical sidebars. The accompanying screenshot lines up Cloudflare, Supabase, Vercel, Claude and ChatGPT menus, which share almost the same structure — Projects, Storage, Logs, AI gateways and so on. The upside is staying in flow instead of hopping between tools; the open question is whether he'll remember which tools he used months from now.
