RustGIS v0.5.0 is out. RustGIS is a fast, free, open-source GIS written in pure Rust, running natively on Windows, macOS, Linux and in the browser, with data kept local unless sent to an AI model.
Highlights:
- A unified expression language for queries, Calculate Field, and per-feature symbol size/color/angle
- Richer cartography: hatch, gradient and shapeburst fills, markers along lines, label halos, backgrounds and wrapping
- A full set of overlay analysis tools
The release combines 231 pull requests from 24 contributors, 11 of them first-timers.
