OpenAI to merge Plus, Pro and Business usage allowances across ChatGPT and Codex starting December

A Reddit post shares OpenAI's notice: starting in December, Plus, Pro, and Business plan usage allowances will be shared across ChatGPT and Codex as Work's agentic capabilities fold into the main ChatGPT experience.
- Usage will be measured in tokens; consumption depends on the model chosen and task complexity, with advanced models and complex tasks drawing more. Instant chat won't count against the allowance.
- OpenAI says most users shouldn't need to wait for resets more often than now, and combined remaining usage will be visible in Settings → Usage.
- Hitting the limit means waiting for reset, upgrading, or buying credits.
