ChatGPT Plus to merge chat and Work usage allowances into one pool from December

A Reddit post sharing OpenAI's own support page confirms that from December 2026, Plus-plan Medium and High chat usage will draw from the same allowance as Work (and Codex), ending the current separation. Only Instant chat stays outside the shared pool. OpenAI hasn't said how large the combined allowance will be, so it's unknown whether users will hit limits sooner; until December, Chat and Work keep separate quotas.
