He edited a whole YouTube video with Claude + ffmpeg: 8:36 cut to 5:45, no editor
prasenx · x · 2026-11-01
Developer prasenx shared a video-editing pipeline with zero GUI editors — just Claude Opus writing Python + ffmpeg:
- Auto removal of filler: faster-whisper timestamped every word of the raw take; the script cut 78 ums, repeats and dead air, shrinking 8:36 to 5:45
- Face tracking: cuts to his face only when he's looking at the lens
- 27 title cards rendered in 4K via code
- Voice cleanup: declip, denoise, de-ess, compression; AI-generated music ducked under the voice
- ffmpeg exports the final 4K file
A concrete, reproducible example of using an LLM as the "editing engineer" behind a fully scripted post-production pipeline.
