Anthropic's Max→Ultra rename checked line by line: weekly caps never went away
No-News-8059 · reddit · 2026-10-31
Reading Anthropic's new pricing page and Help Center side by side (checked 2026-10-31):
- Max ($100, was Max 5x): 5x Pro per 5 hours (unchanged); weekly limit is now documented at 5x Pro; $100/mo API credits, Claude Platform only.
- Ultra ($200, was Max 20x): no 5-hour cap for verified accounts (verification is automatic; new accounts start throttled); weekly limit remains at 10x Pro with a separate Fable cap; $200/mo API credits, same restrictions.
- Pro ($20): dropped the "at least 5x Free" line with no replacement.
Unchanged: Claude Code shares the plan's pool across all surfaces; consumption depends on conversation length/attachments/model, not message count; API-rate usage credits remain the overflow escape hatch.
Key clarification: the argued-over "20x" was always the 5-hour multiple. The old Max 20x was never documented as 20x of anything weekly; the new page says 10x. If your pain is the 5-hour wait, Ultra fixes it (once verified); if it's running out of week, it doesn't.
