Dana Moshkovitz presents proof of Unique Games Conjecture using alien error-correcting code

Boaz Barak highlights Dana Moshkovitz's talk on a proof of the Unique Games Conjecture. Per Scott Aaronson's blog, the proof centers on a 'totally alien' new error-correcting code unlike anything human PCP experts had proposed, combined with standard techniques to lift it to a PCP — with the more 'boring' lifting part taking most of the verification time. UGC is one of the biggest open problems in theoretical computer science, so a credible proof would be a landmark result.
