Single image to 3D surgical anatomy on one GPU: gallbladder demo still misses the cystic duct
MaziyarPanahi · x · 2026-10-31
- Prompted by a doctor, Maziyar Panahi tested image-to-3D anatomy generation on a cholecystectomy case: clicking the gallbladder produced a 3D structure, with the liver, duodenum and portal vein appearing around it — all on a single GPU.
- Key limitation: the cystic duct and artery are not yet shown, the structures surgeons most need. He asks surgeons what the model would have to demonstrate before it could be trusted for surgical planning.
