Pika H3 beats a veteran's heavily-optimized video workflow: 4x faster and better quality

Reddit user robertwellesley ran hands-on tests of Pika's H3 video model and came away stunned.

Test 1: On an RTX3080 laptop (16GB), Pika's demo prompt took 14m22s for a 5-second video, while his own tuned model needed nearly 64 minutes.

Test 2 was more revealing: a hard stairwell scene (fast descent, turn toward camera, feet on steps, hand on rail, camera tracking), requesting 1 second at 960x544. His heavily optimized workflow (Singularity 1.3 two-stage with latent upscale, plus Veda, LMS, R34l1ty, and Turbo 4step LoRAs) took 370 seconds and produced garbled results—blotched face, jokey movements, hand clipping through the railing.

Pika H3's generic, unmodified workflow finished the same prompt in just 95 seconds—about a quarter of the time—with clearly better output: realistic motion, feet hitting steps, no clipping, more coherent face during fast movement, and far superior audio.

The author notes H3 is notoriously slow, yet shines here, and plans further testing with his LoRAs and tricks (HDR, latent upscale, refinement, Fizgig stills).
