A Reddit user gave DeepSeek and Hy nearly identical prompts asking them to predict their own next releases. DeepSeek's V4.1 Flash distinguished V4.1-Pro from a true next-gen V5, predicting unified multimodality, adaptive thinking, and persistent memory around Q1-Q2 2027. Hy3 extrapolated from its own Preview-to-Stable cadence to estimate Hy4 Stable in late Oct-mid Nov 2026, plus better memory, agent skills, and a possible Lite tier, delivered as a full HTML report with timelines. Both flagged memory and agent capabilities as the next frontier, but DeepSeek leaned on architecture signals while Hy leaned on release patterns — and they weren't predicting the same thing.
