Ex-Apple App Review chief: Apple approved a fix, then killed the developer under 3.2(f)
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-31
Former Apple App Review head Phillip Shoemaker details how developers who fix a vague rejection and get re-approved are months later terminated under guideline 3.2(f) for "a pattern of manipulative or misleading behavior" — with the earlier approval used as evidence and no explanation given. He argues 3.2(f) was never meant to work this way. Robert Scoble amplified the post, tagging Apple exec John Ternus and citing Steve Ballmer's apology over a similar Microsoft episode as a leadership example to follow.
