Allison Duettmann, President and CEO of Foresight Institute, announced she is stepping down after a decade of leadership and joining the Board of Directors. Co-founder Christine Peterson will serve as interim President while the board searches for the next CEO.
Under Duettmann, Foresight grew into an organization with six focus areas, a fellowship supporting 266 researchers, a multi-million-dollar grants program, Vision Weekends on three continents, and AI for Science and Safety Nodes in San Francisco and Berlin — built on her conviction that open science needs open compute. The team now has 12 people across San Francisco and Berlin. She says the organization is in the strongest shape of its forty years, and teased news about her own next step soon.
