The classic Japanese algorithm textbook Programming Contest Strategies: Algorithms and Data Structures is getting a new edition roughly 11 years after its 2015 debut, publishing September 17, 2026 via Mynavi. The 480-page book by Hidetaka Watanabe (University of Aizu), supervised by Ozy and Takuya Akiba, teaches algorithms through hands-on practice on the Aizu Online Judge system. The retweeter notes that with LLM progress reaffirming the value of deliberate practice, this exercise-driven approach matters more than ever.
