Models already understand harnesses: a minimal agent harness takes hours, but customization still needs you

Elvis Saravia observes that today's models are so good and aware of agent harnesses — at least at a high level — that developers can build a solid minimal harness in just a couple of hours.
The catch: while models understand harnesses, they aren't great at the customization a real harness needs. That part still requires the developer's own input and ongoing maintenance. In short, models lower the barrier to getting started, but personalized harness tuning can't be delegated to the model itself.
