Three early-career MIT mathematicians surveyed 268 grad students and postdocs across 60 institutions (Sept–Oct 2026). About 70% expect AI to make tenured jobs harder to land, and fear of being scooped by AI is making some share less unfinished work — a shift in academic sharing culture. Paper: arXiv 2610.40584.
