Anthropic renames Max 5x/20x to Max/Ultra and drops the 5-hour limit for verified Ultra users

Anthropic is renaming its Claude subscription tiers: Max 5x becomes Max (still $100/month) and Max 20x becomes Ultra (still $200/month), with no action required from existing subscribers.
The bigger change: starting today, verified Ultra accounts get the 5-hour usage cap removed, with most existing subscribers covered immediately. Newer accounts keep a temporary limit until verified, a measure Anthropic says helps prevent fraud and abuse.
