Anthropic renames Max plans to Max and Ultra, drops 5-hour limit for verified Ultra users
claudeai · x · 2026-10-31
Anthropic announced a rebrand of its Claude subscription tiers: Max 5x becomes Max (still $100/month) and Max 20x becomes Ultra (still $200/month), with no action needed from existing subscribers. Starting today, most verified Ultra accounts get the 5-hour usage cap removed; newer accounts keep a temporary limit until verified as an anti-fraud measure, while weekly limits stay unchanged. The pricing page also lists new perks: Max now includes $100/month in API credits and Fable access (up to half the weekly limit), while Ultra's API credits rise to $200/month.
