Signal65: Snowflake's CoCo agent finishes workflow 4.6x faster than manual
ryanshrout · x · 2026-10-31
Signal65 published a Snowflake-commissioned hands-on evaluation against Databricks, using the same engineers, dataset (US DOT Flight Delays), and requirements on both platforms across ingestion, transformation, governance, app building, disaster recovery, and data sharing.
- Snowflake's CoCo agent completed the full seven-phase workflow in 68 minutes vs. 316 manually — 4.6x faster, with minimal human intervention, including steps Databricks' Genie Code didn't finish
- Governance tasks (masking, tagging, access policies) were 32% faster than Databricks hands-on
- Cross-cloud AWS-to-Azure failover works as a configured feature rather than a custom build
Note: the study was commissioned by Snowflake, so take vendor-favorable conclusions with appropriate salt.
