Sharing the classic Stanford paper by Oppezzo & Schwartz, 'Give Your Ideas Some Legs.' Four experiments show walking boosts creative ideation in real time and shortly after: walking increased creativity scores on the divergent thinking GAU test for 81% of participants; outdoor walking produced the most novel, highest-quality analogies; and a residual creative boost persisted even after sitting back down. Outdoor stimulation and walking had separable effects.
