CARD tracks real contact forces for dexterous robot hands, no object models needed at 10 Hz

CARD (Contact-Anchored Retargeting for Dexterous Manipulation) extends the human-to-robot interface beyond kinematics by tracking real-world contact and forces, enabling unprecedented dexterous tasks via tactile reactive replay.
- Scalable: multiple input sources and robot hands supported;
- No object models, no simulator, runs at 10 Hz;
- Commentators argue contact is the last frontier for roboticists, as planning, reasoning, and much of perception are being absorbed by foundation models.
