humans& announced &tutor, an AI tutor trained against its persimmon model. Author alexisjross explains why the team is excited:
- It's a case study for the company's differentiated bet: having good models of users (learners) lets them train AI that helps people over long time horizons — e.g. teaching in a way that imparts genuine new understanding.
- Education is an application close to the author's heart, something she wanted to work on since her PhD.
- The project was built with collaborator @314Bansal.
