Chinese indie-hacker community operator Gefei shared renewal data backing his paid community: of 720 members who joined in 2023, 80.1% renewed for a second year, 79.2% for a third, and 68.6% have already prepaid year four. The 2024 cohort dipped to 62.1% due to a missing renewal-reminder feature. He also recounts members' income milestones, from $800/day via AdSense to one member passing $50k/month on Stripe, arguing the community's real value is expanding what members believe is possible.
