Binance disclosed a major security incident: attackers accessed a service container via a compromised DevOps engineer's laptop and submitted unauthorized withdrawals, with no evidence of private key leakage. Estimated impact is $6.3B, with $3B in assets frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses via the SAFU fund and company funds.
Etherscan published a fund-flow visualization built on research from zachxbt, banteg and others, mapping the stolen funds across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Base and Polygon — 93 entities and 162 flows.
