XWiki Team Releases Open-Source MCP Server for AI Agent Wiki Access
LorinaBalan · reddit · 2026-10-30
The XWiki team has released an open-source MCP server that lets AI agents interact directly with content stored in XWiki, without migrating data or locking into a specific AI provider.
Key capabilities:
- Search and read wiki pages
- Access attachments, page history, and links
- Work with structured data
- Create and edit pages when write access is enabled (write is disabled by default)
The server is self-hostable, works with MCP-compatible clients like Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode, and respects existing XWiki permissions. The team is seeking feedback, especially from those using MCP for documentation and knowledge management.
